Reiki is an Eastern technique rooted in Japanese origin that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. This alternative form of medicine promotes healing and balances the mental, emotional and physical bodies. This healing method works for a wide variety of conditions and has long-lasting results.
Reiki transmits, or sends healing energy through the hands of the practitioner who acts as a channel to help release stored or blocked energy within the body. This energy is administered through a gentle, hands-on method.
The releasing of blocked energy accelerates the bodies healing process, prevents sickness and dis-ease and promotes the natural flow of energy throughout the body, improving overall health.
This type of treatment is beneficial for individuals at every stage of life, strengthening their energetic life force. Reiki can be combined with other healing methods and treatments.
Reiki is a method of healing that has been used for thousands of years. It was brought to America after World War II. Recently, it has become more known and acknowledged for its benefits and is now being used in hospitals all over the world to bring comfort to patients and help speed up their healing process.
What does this process look like?
The receiver of Reiki would lie, face up, on a massage table with clothes on, (comfortable clothing is suggested). The person would then be tucked into a comfortable blanket unless they prefer not to be. Then the practitioner would turn on relaxing music and ask the receiver to close his/her eyes and relax. The practitioner will then bring the energy into the receivers body, starting at the top of their head and working down to the toes. Then the person will turn over to face down and the Reiki Practitioner would do the same process for the back side. A typical session lasts for about 45 minutes. Treatments with Kate (for humans), last for a full 60 minutes.
After the treatment is over, feelings of lightness, clarity, peace of mind, euphoria & bliss are common.
*Private in-home treatments, animal treatments and Reiki circles all look different than this typical treatment that was described above. More information about these types of treatments can be found under “Services.”
